The Stay + Play Wireless fence is the newest wireless solution from Pet Safe. Designed with convenience in mind, the Stay + Play Wireless Fence system offers your dog freedom of movement without the need for buried wires.

The small transmitter is installed inside your home and emits a wireless signal covering up to ¾ of an acre. By combining transmitters you can achieve a larger containment area. A key feature of a wireless system is portability. The system can quickly and easily be taken with you to the cottage, camping or wherever you go with your four-legged friend.

The waterproof, rechargeable collar is small and contoured for a comfortable fit on just about any dog. The collar features five correction levels plus a tone-only mode for training.

SUMMARY: A good quality and reliable option for those who need a wireless system. Multiple collars can be used on the system and up to two collars can be charged simultaneously. The system is suitable for dogs over 5 lbs.

Considerations for a wireless fence:

• You should have minimal landscaping
• There should be no aluminum or stucco
• Any metal buildings or large vehicles should be excluded from the boundary area
• Severe sloping can interfere with the wireless signal

  • 1 Rechargeable Collar
  • 1 Charging Adapter (charges up to 2 collars simultaneously)
  • 1 Transmitter (up to ¾ acre circle)
  • 50 Training Flags
  • Short & Long Probes
  • Test Light Tool
  • Probe Wrench
  • Owners Manual

  • Rechargeable: The collar uses a built in rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. The collar will fully charge in 2-3 hours and the charge will last about 3 weeks.
  • Suitable For Most Dogs: The collar fits dogs of 5 lbs. or more with a neck size of 6-23 inches.
  • Individual Correction Levels: The collar offers 5 correction levels and each collar on the system can be adjusted individually to properly match the size and temperament of the dog wearing it.
  • Waterproof: The collar is waterproof and reasonably durable. The included nylon strap can be removed and replaced with a collar strap of your choice.
  • Low Battery Indicator: The collar features an LED battery indicator that flashes every 5 seconds to indicate a working collar.
  • Short & Long Probes: The collar includes a pair of each short and long probes and a wrench tool for removing and replacing them.

  • Portable: The biggest advantage of a wireless system is the ability to take it with you wherever you take your dog. The transmitter requires only a normal outlet protected from the elements.
  • Field Size: The transmitter creates a circular boundary of up to ¾ acre. The field size is adjustable using a knob on the transmitter. The diameter of the circle can be adjusted from 17 to 210 Feet.
  • Power Loss Alarm: The transmitter is equipped with an alarm to alert the owner to a power loss. Should the power fail the transmitter will sound the alarm for up to 30 minutes.
  • Expandable Boundary: Additional transmitter units can be added to increase the field size of the system.

  • Limited Lifetime Warranty: Like all Pet Safe Products, the limited lifetime warranty actually means that you have full coverage for the first year and then a lifetime of set price repairs.

  1. Passed it to my mother Review by Kaitlyn Summers

I purchased this system in hopes that it would be a lazy way to keep my dog in my yard. I read the reviews but I did not want to listen to them all. I have a slight slope in my yard and I thought it would be just fine thinking that the slope would not make much of the difference. Well, to my own mistake it did. I kept finding my dog at the bottom of my yard outside of the boundary zone. I am glad that there is a bunch of brush at the far back but it still left an open area that my dog could eventually find. That leaves me worried because it is pretty close to the road. I ended up bringing the system over to my mother who was looking at purchasing one for herself. It works great for her and she has no issues with it at all. I would just like to warn anyone looking to purchase this system to check your yard as well as the qualifications you need to have in order for this to work properly. I ended up purchasing a wired fence that I installed above ground. I am glad that my mother wanted the system because I hate the whole return process of any item. Read and find out before you buy. Good working system, just not for my yard.

  2. Works pretty good Review by Austin May

I live on a flat dull acre lot in my trailer in the middle of nowhere. I found that this system worked pretty well even through the storms that came through this winter. Recently it just stopped working and I called up and was able to get it replaced after trying to troubleshoot the system. I just wanted to come on here and say that this was something I like and I liked how I was treated when I needed to exchange it for another system. Great Service and Great System.

  3. This is awesome! Review by George Schueler

We really love this product. We have an in ground fence at home so our dogs are used to the electric fence collars, but we wanted something portable to take with us camping and on other trips. This works perfectly! Be aware that in heavily wooded areas the signal sometimes can phase out but other than that it has worked great. Setup is a piece of cake and is pretty much plug and play. Thank you much!

  4. Easy to use. Review by Mike Baxter

Thanks to the staff at FLEXPETZ we purchased the Pet Safe Stay n Play. The tech was very knowledgeable and asked a lot of great questions to ensure our success with our new wireless electric dog fence. If you are interested in wireless make sure you call a tech at FLEXPETZ to make sure the product will work well for you. Fortunately for us wireless was a good fit because of our flat property and several other important factors. Thanks again.

  5. Dude, this Stay and Play is pretty badass. Review by Kyler Davis

I don't like letting the dog out alone. He needs to get exercise, but I can't be out there with him all the time.
This Stay and Play wireless fence is crazy awesome. The girlfriend is the patient one, so she was in charge of training Herbie.
Now, he won't even follow, if I walk out past the flags. By day 5 he was already in tune to the boundary line. And he's a stupid dog too. Eats his own mess.
I'm glad I got this thing. Some companies want to charge you over 2 grand for a wired fence install. This thing was well worth it.

  6. This is a great fence Review by Ruby

I've heard a lot from other people about the Stay and Play wireless fence. Until then, I didn't know anything about it. Now, I'm glad I did. Flexpetz has live people there to answer all the questions I had about the system. I can really say I'm happy with the money I spent. The collar recharges quick. I would buy from Flexpetz from now on, for anything I need. A++++ (Posted on 12/19/2014)

  7. Great product! Review by Nicole K

This is a necessity! Our dog are safe and we are VERY happy! This wireless fence has worked extremely well. It was also very easy for us to set up and use. (Posted on 11/21/2013)

  8. Fantastic | Makes life so much easier Review by Bobby

I have had this product well over a year now. I have 3 dogs, each over 110 lbs, all on the same system. The ability to add 2+ collars to the system and is wonderful. Many other systems on the market only allow up to 2 collars on one transmitter unit. Initial training to the unit is easy. Portability is the best feature about the system. When we have family BBQ's at the In-Laws or even other places, we bring the system with us. When ever we go places the dogs will go out until the hear the tone on the collar when they have reached their limit instead of associating physical boundary markers, making the need of the boundary flags nonexistent. Good product, still going strong, can take anywhere, affordable, effective, and easy to train. (Posted on 8/3/2013)

  9. Home and Away Review by Jenny G.

I was looking for a system for my yard when I found this one. I was very excited about how well it worked. It wasn't until we were debating whether to take the dogs on vacation with us (a campgrounds in our camper) when I realized that we could take the wireless fence with us! Added to the pleasure of our vacation! (Posted on 4/2/2013)

  10. Great for an Unhandy Man Review by Devin

I am not at all handy. I loved the idea of saving money by not hiring an installer, but I was not happy with the idea of installing it. This wireless option was ideal for me. I got to save money, but the set up is so easy that even I could do it. (Posted on 3/13/2013)

  11. Great for Multi-dog Household Review by Pack Leader

I have multiple dogs in my house. I just moved, but am planning on only staying in this house for two years. I didn't want to install a system only to move again in two years and need a new one. This wireless system has no issues being transported. In addition, I have five dogs, and this worked for all of them - 10pounds, 20pounds, 25pounds, 60pounds, and 95pounds. I love that it's one system for all of them. (Posted on 2/9/2013)

  12. Flexible System Review by Robert Thompson - Santa Barbara Calif.

I first bought this system for my old house that was 1/2 acre. When I moved to a property that was about an acre, I thought that I would need a new system. But, the great representative at Flex Petz explained how another unit could work with mine to give me a bigger perimeter. And because the system is transportable, there was not issue at all with moving it. (Posted on 1/31/2013)

  13. Great for the whole pack Review by Elijah Jones - Mississippi

I love this wireless system. Because it works on a radius, it covers my front, sides, and back yard. I also love that I can use it with my smaller dogs and my mid-size dogs. The fact that the collars recharge is also a major plus. Great system!! (Posted on 1/30/2013)

  14. Portable! Review by AllensTeacher

The fact that this system is portable is so cool! In the summer I stay at my family's cabin on a large property for a month or so. I was so happy to find a system that I could use at home and then take with me for the summer without buying a whole separate system. I was worried that it would be too complicated to set up to really bring back and forth with me, but it was really simple. I am totally happy with this purchase! (Posted on 1/22/2013)

  15. Perfectly portable Review by Maryann

I was looking for a containment solution for Moxie my poodle. We snowbird between New Jersey and FL. I didn't want to spend the money to have a fence installed at either house, since we go back and forth very frequently.

I was happy to find the stay and play fence. The collar is small and set up is super easy. Moxie learned her boundaries in both places very easily.

I appreciated the techs suggestion to purchase an extra roll of flags. I keep one set in NJ and one in FL. The unit is easy to transport and set up. (Posted on 1/17/2013)

  16. Pretty Good But certainly not perfect Review by Donna

I received the dog fence in a Timely manner from Flexpetz about 3 months ago. It has worked well containing my two Yorkshire Terriers, we cover about a 1/2 acre of property. I did notice the low battery indicator started blinking about 2 days ago and proceeded to recharge the battery. I was a bit disappointed by the fact that the charge only lasted about 3 months, and the nylon collar that holds the receiver in place seems to have frayed a bit. Seems like a good system so far aside from the two minor problems. It was rather expensive in contrast to some of the other systems I looked at, and with two dogs got even a bit more expensive. Generally speaking I would recommend this system with cost and the minor issues I have had with the fence as the only real problems to speak of. (Posted on 12/19/2012)

  17. Wireless Comfort Review by Lara

    Petsafe Stay+Play Wireless Fence

I love my new system it has been doing everything that it was promised to do. My dogs are safer and well contained and that is a joy in itself. flexpetz has given me something more than I could ever ask for and I am pleased with my wireless fence and all of it’s features, I am still finding more features and it surprises me almost everyday.

  18. Well Worth it! Review by Norm

Wow, I tried several training systems and overall this one was the best solution. I ran across this site looking for dog training products & I am baffled. I invested in (Innotek IUC-5100 Contain and Train) and I am truly having a easier time training & making things more comfortable for the both of us. I can now control him when strangers come by. Sometimes he startles them by jumping up into their face with enough force to knock down a football player. He is very loving and playful, I just needed to teach him boundaries. He is doing great and hasn’t had another incident since I have done the training with this product. Product is very affordable and easy to use. Thank you Flexpetz for showing me an easier way to communicate with my dog!

  19. Stay+play Review by carly

I am an owner of multiple dogs & if you have more than one dog then you know how difficult it can be trying to keep them contained & not running about all over the place. And if they don’t have enough room they can cause havoc in your personal space. I heard about a site called flexpets that sells wireless fence systems so I looked into it. I found a product called Petsafe Stay + Play Wireless Fence (PIF00-12917) it covers up to ¾ an acre which is plenty of room for my three small dogs. It has also been a great product for helping me train them. I really think this product is wonderful I have never been more pleased with how easily it could be to keep my dogs safe & not worry about them running off or ruining any of my belongings. Really helping me enjoy my life with my dogs.

  21. What an upgrade! Review by Rob

“The Stay + Play is bigger and better than ever!. I was blown away to find out that I could now get a new and improved wireless fence at a still very affordable rate. This new system is now equipped with a larger radius of 3/4 of an acre so much more space is available for my 4 dogs to run within. No wires or hassle due to fence setup, it’s completely wireless and portable, and even has Wi-Fi capabilities. I really enjoy the new features and same quality if not better than the older version. I am one very satisfied customer!"

Comment / Questions about Petsafe Stay+Play Wireless Fence

I have a lab cross that weighs 75lbs. Would this device fit him?

Is wireless a good fit. Please discuss the details with a Senior Dog Tech at FLEXPETZ.com before purchasing. We will do all the fact finding needed and advise you on this wireless product.

Here is my wireless explaination.

So a base station is placed inside your home somewhere and it sends out a circular sphere (which can't be changed) around the home.

For many people their dog would be on the neighbor’s property or out in the street depending on your layout. However you can adjust the range anywhere from a 40 foot radius to a 260 foot radius depending on the system.

Here's an image of how that works.

We can use Google Maps to look at the property and I can give my professional opinion if this is a good solution for you.

I need an electric fence for my very energetic dog and do not know about it or how to get started

The wireless fences are a convenient option for smaller yards with minimal landscaping and sloping. Too large of an area and the signal becomes unreliable. The containment area forms a circle around the transmitter and can be reliable up to about 3/4 of an acre.

If you are looking for something more customizable our wired fences are a great choice. You can check out our extensive Video Library or call one of our dog fence experts at (800) 396-5517 and we would be happy to help you with any questions.

Location 9354 S W 94th Loop Ocala, Florida 34481
2 Dogs Jack Russell 20 lbs Springer Spaniel 75 lbs.

House is 75' long and 48' wide Back yard is 50' Deep.

Is wireless a good option? O will is overlap our neighbors property.

The biggest disadvantage of the wireless systems is they create a containment area in the shape of a circle. Unfortunately the majority of our properties are not plotted this way. The field can be adjusted, as with the PetSafe Stay+Play, down from the 210 foot max diameter so it is possible to keep it from overlapping the neighbors property. You will just be cutting out some of your own yard as well. Other than that the wireless system will work well on your property.

The wired systems are definitely the more reliable choice and installation is a lot simpler than many people would think. If you have any other questions about either system please feel free to contact one of our dog fence experts at (800) 396-5517.

i want to expand the range further than 3/4 of an acre how much additional range does an extra transmitter add?

Each transmitter will provide reliable coverage up to 3/4 of an acre. However, you'll want to keep in mind that you will need to configure the coverage ranges in an overlapping layout like THIS.
By doing so, you will create a way for your pet to get from one transmitter's coverage to the other's.

We live on a lake. Our Goldendoodle is a vigorous swimmer and a retriever of anything floating by. I'm not so much concerned with containing him within a boundary while in the lake, but rather is the collar is indeed durable and waterproof to withstand the amount of time he spends in the water.

The best system for your Olympic swimmer is the Sport Dog system. This was designed for your breed. It is a water proof collar. I will attach a link to our best Sport dog package. https://www.flexpetz.com/sportdog-dog-fence-sdf-100a-pro-grade.html

We are available with FREE tech support. Give us a call for assistance in design, installation and training your pet.

Can I use this system with my kittens. They weigh about 8 lbs each

The Petsafe Stay+Play Wireless Fence collars will be big for kittens. I would suggest looking at the PetSafe Deluxe In-Ground Electric Cat Fence. The PetSafe Deluxe In-Ground Electric Cat Fence is perfect for keeping your cats safe at home while still allowing them the freedom to roam. The unique PetSafe In-Ground cat fence works just like an electric dog fence, but uses a smaller, cat safe collar and lower, shorter correction level setting. This one is reliable and easy to use.
