Budget Dog Fence Kits
DIY A Dog Fence On A Budget!
Is it possible to have an in-ground electric dog fence on a budget?
It sure is! What the big professional dog fence installation companies don't want you to know is that you can have an effective in-ground electric dog fence for a mere fraction of the cost of a professionally installed fence and it can work just as well. By purchasing a DIY dog fence kit and installing it yourself, you'll safe thousands of dollars on installation, expensive service calls, and even proprietary collar batteries.
Our dog fence installation specialists have installed, used, and reviewed every single system we sell. Using our in-depth knowledge of the fence kits, we've broken them down into three categories: Pro-Grade, Standard, & Budget. The Pro-Grade fences are the 'best in show'. These are our favorite, fully-featured fences with upgraded components - namely wire, surge protection, and warranty. If you can afford a pro-grade fence, it's the way to go hands down. If not, you can still create a safe place for your dog to play for a price that works with your specific budget. Standard fences are the next group. Standard fences are our preferred fence systems without the upgraded components you'll find inthe pro-grade kits (although you can still add them a la carte). The last group are the Budget Fences you see here. These fences are generally less fully featured than the standard fences but are still reliable and can work well depending on your cicumstances.
How are budget fences different than higher-priced dog fences?
There are two main factors that play into the price and rating of a dog fence kit: features and wire.
In general, more fully-featured dog fences come in at higher price points. Just like with cars, houses, or wines, it's always nice to have the more fully-featured options. But sometimes it's not possible and often, although it would be desirable, it's not a necessity. The same is true for dog fences. There are some situations where a more fully featured dog fence may be necessary, but many times a budget fence option is perfectly acceptable.
Some features to consider when you're looking at electric dog fences are range of correction levels, number of dogs that can use the system simultaneously, collar size and therefore appropriate dog size, system capacity, and compatibility with wireless barrier zones.
