The collar is not rechargeable, using instead a proprietary battery. The battery costs about $10 and lasts 4 months or so before needing to be replaced.

The Perimeter Technologies Additional In-Ground Fence Collar allows you to add an unlimited number of dogs to your existing fence system.
The small, waterproof collar offers 5 independently adjustable correction levels, allowing you to tailor the strength of correction to each dog. The collar also features unique custom contact points – made from conductive rubber rather than metal they are more comfortable for the dog. Each collar comes with a set of each short and long prongs as well as prong covers for training.

I have had my Perimeter Tech system for 3 years and the receiver quit working. I noticed our Beagle was getting closer and closer to the signal wire. I did not like having to replace the collar but at least if was reasonably priced. The new collar came quickly and our pet is safely contained.Price Quality Value

This is a great product. We have 3 dogs total, so we ordered two extra collars. We have had no problems with any of them. They work equally as well for all three of our dogs. Love that they are durable and waterproof. They don't have rechargeable batteries but that is the only negative at all. (Posted on 3/21/2013)Price Quality Value - nice collar
