How Does An Indoor Dog Fence Work?
The technology behind indoor dog fences is pretty simple. The disk or base unit is placed in the room or area you want to keep your pet away from. The disk generates a circular field that you can adjust. You are able to control how close to the unit your dog can get. A good analogy is a doughnut. Think of your indoor unit as the “hole” and the signal as the doughnut shape.
Indoor dog fences do not require any tools or installation. The biggest challenge with indoor dog fences is finding the correct placement for the unit. Remember, there is no way to block the signal or change its shape. You can adjust the size of the zone the unit transmits depending on what type of off-limits area you need to create - the distance on most units is adjustable from 2-10 feet.
What Are Indoor Dog Fences Used For?
Indoor dog fence pet barrier systems are used for a variety of pet proofing purposes - their uses are pratically infinite. Most people use them to keep their dog or cat away from a certain area or thing. For example, you may want to keep your dog away from your cat's food and litter box, or keep all of your pets from jumping up on the couch when you aren't at home. The base unit can be placed on or under a piece of furniture to keep the dog from jumping up.
Indoor dog fences are also often used to keep pets in or out of certain areas of the house without installing a baby gate. For example, you could mount it on a wall near the door to stop the dog from entering a room or bolting through the front door everytime you open it. The versatile indoor dog fences can be placed nearly anywhere. Some common places to disguise the units include, bookcases, under tables, sofas, etc. Several of our customers have one to place under their Christmas tree!
