All electric dog fence systems rely on battery power. Some systems use rechargeable batteries in their receiver collars and/or transmitters, other systems use generic or proprietary user replaceable batteries in their components. When your electric dog fence collar runs low on battery it will begin to exhibit poor performance, you may notice changes in response time or in the signal reception near the warning or correction zones. Some electric dog fence collars have a low battery warning light that lets you know when it’s time to change the battery. Other systems rely on user testing to detect a low battery. When the battery in your dog’s collar becomes too flat the collar will no longer function to contain your dog.
