2. Dog Fence Installation

One you have planned your layout; choose your method of installation.  You can bury the fence line with a machine, by hand, attach the wire to an existing physical fence or even use garden staples to tack your wire to the ground.

3. Training

The most important part of the dog fence process is proper training.  You and your dog need to be confident that he will stay in your yard in all scenarios.  You will need a long leash and meat or moist dog treats to get started.  We recommend two short (10-15 minute) training sessions a day for approximately two weeks to ensure containment. 

The first week you will spend showing your dog his new boundary vs. the street, your neighbor’s yard, etc.  You are establishing the perimeter your dog is to stay in.  The second part of the training involves using distractions to ensure your dog is able to handle himself in everyday situations.  We recommend doing training sessions when distractions are present.  Common distractions include cars, children, bikers and joggers.
