Basic Wiring Tutorial For In-Ground Dog Fences

Return to Video Library

Wired Pet Fence Basics

Here we introduce the basics of an invisible radio pet fence and how the components work together. There are three main parts to the fence. The transmitter which sends the radio signal to the perimeter wire. This is where you can adjust the signal strength and boundary width. From the transmitter you will either have twisted wire, which carries the signal without setting off the collar, or the perimeter wire which sets the correction and warning zones. There is also the collar which is one of the most determining factors of the system. The collars come in different sizes with different features so you want to make sure to choose a system with one that will fit your pet’s size and temperament perfectly.
