Like the Perimeter Technologies system, the Havahart uses WiFi technology, allowing for two-way communication between the base station and collar(s) so you get the helpful Boundary Challenge Alert safety feature.

Unlike Perimeter Technologies, the collar is bigger and a bit clunky – the one notable drawback. The collar is powered by rechargeable batteries, and the out of the box system includes a battery charger and 2 lithium ion batteries. The collar offers 5 individually adjustable correction levels and the system can handle up to two collars at a time.

The clear advantage of the Havahart over the competition is the signal reliability. The Havahart system boasts a 400ft. signal range. While this may be accurate in optimal, unobstructed and flat conditions, in reality the signal is most reliable under about 250 ft. The collar features two external antennae (integrated into the collar band) that seem to be effective in increasing the consistency and reliability of the boundary signal as well as keeping correction delay times to a minimum.

Considerations for a wireless fence:

• You should have minimal landscaping
• There should be no aluminum or stucco
• Any metal buildings or large vehicles should be excluded from the boundary area
• Severe sloping can interfere with the wireless signal

  • WiFi Base Station
  • WiFi Collar
  • 2 Rechargeable Batteries
  • Wall Charger
  • 75 Boundary Flags
  • Collar Tester
  • Long & Short Prongs
  • Base Station Mounting Hardware
  • Instruction Manual

  • Rechargeable Battery: The Havahart Radial wireless fence comes with two rechargeable lithium ion collar batteries and a plug-in charger. We always prefer rechargeable batteries and two is a nice bonus because one can charge while the other is being used.
  • Long & Short Prongs: The collar comes with two sets of contact point prongs, one for short hair and one for long hair.
  • Low Battery Indicator: The small LED light on the collar lets you know that it is working and when the battery is due for a charge.
  • Superior Signal: The Havahart WiFi system offers much better reception than the competing wireless systems. Two external antennae embedded in the collar band seem to promote better reception.
  • Water Resistant: The Havahart collar is not completely waterproof, so while rain doesn’t seem to be a problem, the collar cannot be submerged. Unfortunately, this renders this system out of bounds for water inclusive installations.
  • 5 Individual Correction Levels: The collar features 5 independently adjustable correction levels for each collar on the system. The system can accommodate up to two collars.

  • WiFi Technology: WiFi technology allows for two-way communication between the base station and the collar(s). This means that the collar will communicate any challenge to the boundary to the base station where you will be alerted to the challenge so that you can immediately investigate.
  • Boundary Size: The radius of the circular boundary is set on the base station to a maximum of 400 ft. The system performs best when set at under 300ft.
  • LCD Control Screen: The base station controls allow you to set the boundary size and correction level for each collar with an easy to use LCD screen menu.

  • 12 Month Warranty: The Havahart Radial Fence offers a 12 month full warranty.

The cream of the wireless fence crop, the Havahart Radial-Shape2 Wireless fence uses WiFi technology to create a boundary circle with a radius of up to 400ft. The system features a Boundary Challenge Alert safety feature as well as a rechargeable collar battery. As far as wireless containment goes, the Havahart Radial offers superior reliability and signal consistency.

  • Rechargeable Collar
  • Superior Boundary Size
  • Best Wireless Signal Reliability
  • 12-Month Warranty
  • 5 Individually Adjustable Correction Levels
  • Maximum Of 2 Collars
  • Water Resistant
  1. Poor product Review by Unhappy

I should have listened to the reviews; this is a poor, poor product. It is unreliable. I've had the collars replaced several times through the year and today I threw the whole system in the trash. (Posted on 5/15/2015)

  2. NOT FOR ME! Review by Bernard Fillers

I am not happy with the outcome and I wish I would have read more reviews on this page. I read reviews on the wired fences but I seemed to skip this before purchasing it. Feeling very stupid right now after talking to a tech. I have tons of trees throughout my yard along with many slops going to the bottom corner of my yard. I set this whole complex thing up just to realize for myself that it does not work well for me. While contacting the techs I was able to explain my situation and I traded it in for a wired system. I wish I would have spoke to them before my initial purchase to avoid all the hassle with setting this up. It probably works for someone with the perfect yard, but just not something I can work with. Props to the company for working with me and getting my dogs into the sportdog professional system.

  3. It did not work well for me Review by Hellan Granger

I wanted so bad for this fence to work, but it did not. I liked the idea that I would not need to bury anything and I could still shape it how I would like. Unfortunately it did not work well for me and I had to return the thing and just went with a wired fence that works extremely well apposed to this. I guess the hassle is worth the quality. Just wanted to give my opinion.

  4. Absolutely Horribe Review by Donnica Goldsburge

Thank goodness for the return policy! I got this system and hoped that it would work for my dog, but it sucks! I returned and got my refund and bought a wire from from these guys. They worked great with me even though I call and complained to the max! They gave me more attention then I thought they would and they helped me pick out something better suited for me. I should have read up more on it, but I was more excited about how it didn't have any wires... I would call it cheap but it was costly for such a horrible product. Not what I was thinking at all. I wish I would have paid more attention to these reviews rather then all over the internet. It seems like people just want to sell them regardless of how bad they are, but although this site is also selling them, they give you the honest truth about them. Advertised for the brand and there if people really want the damn thing and if i called in the first time and spoke to someone I am pretty sure they would not have suggested this fence. Any ways, I got my wire fence in the mail just last week and installed it. I feel like this was a lot more simple then the stupid wireless one. It seemed more complicated to me then I thought but the wire I only had to lay down and push some staples into the ground. I am happy with my new fence but really would suggest people to turn away from this product and do not make the same mistake as I did!

  5. Not worth the money. Review by Disappointed

I'm not real pleased with this wireless system. I don't know if it is just me, because I've read good reviews about the Havahart line, but this fence is a big let down. For the price, you'd think that this would be one one of the best. However, there is no way I would keep this system after what I now see. An exchange for the Stay and Play was the best thing to do. Yesterday, I pulled the Stay and Play out of the box and set it up. That is an awesome system. It really puts this Havahart turd to shame.
I'm going to let the Stay and Play system do its thing, then I'll be back with a review on that one. (Posted on 8/1/2013)

  6. Returned! Review by Jayson of Priest Lake Idaho

I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered. This product might have a good price, but I really felt like you were getting what you paid for. I returned it and got a better products. Ask Flex Petz customer service for recommendations. They will help you avoid my mistake. (Posted on 4/4/2013)

  7. Listen to Advice Review by Eugenia C.

When I read the description of this product I thought it was just what I needed. And I didn't listen to the negative reviews. I kept thinking, I'm sure it's fine. It wasn't. I ended up returning it and the good people at FlexPetz were wonderful enough to help me exchange it for something else. I should have listened to everyone in the first place. Don't make my mistake. This product simply doesn't work well. (Posted on 3/21/2013)

  8. Buy something else Review by Brian Romesburg - Pittsburgh PA

Flexpetz is awesome, but Havahart's Radial - Shape2 Wireless fence is not so awesome. It was expensive and it just isn't that accurate. From the moment it came I just really felt like I had spent too much on an inferior product. The system is clunky and it just isn't consistent or reliable. I'm so glad the people at Flexpetz then helped me pick something else. (Posted on 2/14/2013)

  9. Not What I Expected Review by Kristi Robinson - Chicago

I was really unhappy with this purchase. I found it to be very unreliable. The boundaries are not consistent at all. That was really troubling for me because I felt it wasn't fair to my dogs to never really know where they were allowed and where they weren't. I ended up returning this system because it just didn't work for me. (Posted on 2/4/2013)

  10. "okay" Review by Lillian Metz - Springfield Ohio

I feel like there are probably better, more updated systems on the market. It works ok, but it's just not the most up-to-date out there. The collars are for sure not as sleek as a lot of other ones out there. I like that it is WiFi, but the radius isn't very big and I didn't find it to be very consistent. I do like the rechargeable batteries, however. (Posted on 1/28/2013)

  11. Lovely Review by Kim

I just want to start by saying that this is an awesome product handsdown. Best product I have tried & I have been completely satified. My dog, Wisper would run out the yard every chance she could get. So I look into some poducts on the internet & ran across this site flexpetz.com. I wanted to get something that would help me keep my dog safe & easy to find in case she tried to run off again. I couldnt afford to pay to actually put up a fence so I bought this wireless dog fence system called Havahart Radial shape-2 Wireless. It was affordable & well worth it to try since I was so desperate. It is very safe & you can also get a 12mo warranty. I really enjoy not having to worry about where my dog has ran off too. I am very amazed by this product & am very happy to recommend it. I could write a story about all its features but I think it would be best to say, you could never understand how good I feel unless you try it yourself.
