Add an extra transmitter to your current PetSafe Wireless Dog Fence System to expand your dog's roaming area up to 1/2 an acre.

Each transmitter creates a circle of up to 180 ft. across. The exact size of the circle can be adjusted on the unit. By overlapping up to four Wireless Dog Fence Transmitters, you can acheive four times the play space for your dog. Set up each transmitter in a place that allows the signal circle to overlap with the other signal circles for a maximum coverage space of roughly 2.5 acres.

PetSafe Wireless Dog Fence System is easy to use and requires virtually no installation - no need to dig, splice, or bury wires! Just plug it in and start training your dog. The PetSafe Wireless Dog Fence System is perfect for those people renting a property or those who travel with their dogs.

You can expand your dogs roaming area up to an additional half of an acre with this add-on PetSafe Wireless Transmitter. Using this extra transmitter to create a second, overlapping signal field will give your dog a considerable amount of extra play area. Each transmitter emits a spherical signal field of up to a 90 ft. radius. You can use up to four of these units simultaneously to create up to 2.5 acres of roaming area for your Fido.

Features:

  • Each Unit Covers Up To 1/2 An Acre Circular Space
  • Includes One A/C Adapter

I had a Boxer and a 135 Rottweiler they always escaped and roamed the neighborhood, no biggy as the local kids loved them. I bought the PetSafe fence and was ecstatic on the capability. Wired fencing was useless with these two as it only shocked as they passed the wires, while PetSafe shocks when you leave the zone and continues until they return.
    Excellent product (Posted on 3/1/2016)

Comment / Questions about PetSafe Wireless Expansion Transmitter

Sandy
September 22, 2015

Hi Johnny,

I need to know how small my containment center can be. How many feet does it cover if it is on the lowest setting?

Flexpetz

Hello Sandy,

The PetSafe wireless transmitter (gray transmitter) is equipped to cover any area from 5' to 90' radius (out in every direction).
The PetSafe Stay and Play transmitter (black transmitter) is equipped to cover any area from 8.5' to 105' radius (out in every direction).

These transmitters are both compatible with the PetSafe Wireless Fence Collar (model: PIF-275-19), PetSafe Stay and Play Wireless Collar (model: PIF00-14288), and the PetSafe Stay and Play Wireless Stubborn Dog Collar (model: PIF00-13672)

I hope you find this information helpful. Thank you much for shopping with Flexpetz.

My wireless system apparently randomly, briefly shocks my dog while he is in the house. Please advise.

Flexpetz

Hello Forrest,
Typically, that kind of behavior (in a wireless containment system), is caused by something large and metallic that is in the containment zone. These culprits are typically:

Metal Roof
Mesh Under Stucco
Automobile
Metal Shed

Some other things that could affect the correction area and containment zone are:

Heavy foliage your dog can slip behind and get a false correction
A neighbor's similar system (or even if they have a wired system, it could change your boundaries)

Other than that, you should not have too much else to cause those symptoms.

I hope you find this information helpful. If you would like to discuss it further, please give us a call.

Cheers

Recently this unit was given to me for my 6 month old puppy as he has left our acreage as few times and we live off a busy road. I have the collar receiver also. Can i use this unit alone or is it only used in addition to the 300 model unit?

Flexpetz

This unit can be used as the solitary fence transmitter. It is not strictly an expansion transmitter.

Can the transmitters be set up outside?

Flexpetz

A base station is placed somewhere inside your home (has to be inside). The base station sends out a circular sphere signal around the property (strictly circular, you cannot change that). You can adjust the range anywhere from a 40 foot radius to as large as a 260 foot radius.
For many people, this does not work because the dog would be on the neighbor’s property, or out in the street (depending on your property).
Do you think this might be appropriate for you property?

Hello. We currently have a PetSafe instant fence pet containment system without the collar. We want to expand the area for our dog and get a collar that will work for both systems. We would like to have one system in our home and one in our workshop in the back yard. Is this available and what would you recommend? Thank you.

Flexpetz

Hello Ashley,
You could get any one of these collars here:
We offer 3 different collar receivers that are ALL compatible with both the PetSafe Wireless Fence (PIF-300 / IF-100) as well as the PetSafe Stay & Play Wireless Fence (PIF00-12917). Two are rechargeable and one runs on a battery.

The standard Stay & Play rechargeable collar can be seen
https://www.flexpetz.com/petsafe-stay-play-additional-collar-model-pif00-12918.html

The Stubborn Dog version of the Stay & Play can be seen
https://www.flexpetz.com/pet-safe-stubborn-dog-wireless-extra-receiver-collar.html

The battery run PetSafe wireless collar can be seen
https://www.flexpetz.com/extra-wireless-pet-safe-collar-pif-275-19.html

The batteries that the PetSafe wireless collar runs on can be seen
https://www.flexpetz.com/petsafe-6-volt-battery-rfa-67d-11-2-pack.html

You can use an extra transmitter with the one you have now to expand the area and double the size or you can just have one at the house and one at the work shop and they will not be connected.

Cant get your chat option on the website to work.....
We used the Petsafe system before but are having trouble at our new house. We live up on a steep hill, it that the problem? The house is up on the hill but we want the dog to roam around the yard, which is all below the house.
THanks,
Kit

Flexpetz

Hello Kit,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
For wireless systems it is not recommended to have hills or slopes it will make your unreliable. The signal does not travel with the hills or the slopes.
For your layout I would go with a wired system.
You can expect it to take you a day or less to get your dog fence installed. You don’t even necessarily need to bury the wire. You may choose to secure the wire to the ground using dog fence staples. You can also staple it to a structure that is already present, such as a fence or a wall. It just depends on the terrain in your yard. In wooded areas, you can definitely secure the wire to the ground where there are rocks or tree limbs present.
If you do decide to bury the wire, 1-3 inches is plenty deep enough. Using a power edger to create a trench will make the job easier for you. If you take a look at this link, it outlines all the specifics on how to install your electric dog fence: https://www.flexpetz.com/wire-installation Also check out this page for full installation details, it may seem a little overwhelming but for the most part installing is relatively simple and requires nothing more but a little back bone and some really basic tools, but we have covered every possible detail of installation on this page https://www.flexpetz.com/dog-fence-installation just click on the link and let us know if you have any questions....we are here to help.
Also what kind of dog/s do you have?
I can help you find an ideal system for you and your pets.

We have had two of your wired systems over the past several years with varying degrees of success. We are currently considering trying one of your wireless systems and wonder if the collars from our previous wired systems,( including a stubborn dog collar), are compatible?

I have a wireless system so the dogs cannot go into the neighbors yard. Now they cannot get to the lake to swim. Will another transmitter be my answer. I do have a 4 seasons room by the lake I could put in in..please help

Flexpetz

Tally,

That would really depend on which wireless system you purchased. If it is a PetSafe wireless system (either of their models), you can add more transmitters to the system to expand your coverage area.

However, many of the other wireless systems do not have that extendable function. If you would like more information, please feel free to give us a call and we can narrow down what you have and what your options are. Cheers

I have had a Havahart radial 2 for the past 2 years. At first it worked well, but now seems to not work well at all, although all systems are working. The dog, a Bichon, has repeatedly gone over the barrier. At other times the collar warns her when she is on the front porch or in the house. I have moved the transmitter to different locations, including upstairs, but it doesn't help. I admit that we have many trees on our 1.75 acres but this thing did work before. I'm considering your product, but I'm hesitant because I am afraid I will have the same problem with it and I don't want to waste my money on a product that won't work for me. HELP!

Flexpetz

Hello Mary,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
That is one of the reasons we don't sell Havahart anymore to much retention and failures. We do however love the PIF-300 and the PIF00-12917 Both of the Petsafe wireless systems:
1. https://www.flexpetz.com/stay-play-wireless-fence-pif00-12917.html
2. https://www.flexpetz.com/petsafe-wireless-fence-pif-300.html

I believe you will be happy with either system.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Julie A.
