- PetSafe In-Ground Fence - Wire Removed
The entry-level pet containment system from PetSafe is a decent, reliable system with an affordable price tag. Certainly the best budget option, this fence does have some limitations that are worth considering. But at nearly $100 less than the PetSafe YardMax system, this basic in-ground fence offers high quality at a pretty low price. While durable and waterproof, the collar is not rechargeable and requires the PetSafe proprietary batteries. The 5 correction levels are individually set for each collar and range from medium to high, so the collar is suitable for dogs from about 12 - 100 lbs. The system can handle up to 10 acres and is cross-compatible with other PetSafe In-Ground collars (except the discontinued UltraSmart line).
- Transmitter with power adapter and mounting bracket
- Receiver collar
- RFA-67 battery
- Test light tool
- Operating and training guide
5 Correction Levels: The PetSafe In-Ground takes the collar from the retired PetSafe Deluxe. The 5 correction levels are individually set at the collar level so the system is completely suitable for dogs of varying sizes and temperaments. The collar correction strength is fairly low to high so the collar is suitable for all dogs from about 12 - 100 lbs.
Compact, Waterproof Design: The collar is nice and compact and is also waterproof and quite durable, even submersible. The compact design is a nice feature for the comfort of the dog and makes this sytem functional for dogs as little as about 12 lbs.
Indoor Pod Compatible: A nice extra feature for a budget system, the PetSafe In-Ground is compatible with the indoor pods that allow you to create exclusion zones within your house.
Disposable Proprietary Battery: The collar utilizes proprietary PetSafe batteries. They cost about $8 for two batteries and they last about 3 months. We always prefer rechargeable systems because you never end up in a situation where you have no spare batteries and can't let your dogs out and also for the eco-friendly nature of rechargeable batteries.
Regular Prongs Only: One set of regular prongs are included with this system. While this is fine for short coats, if your dog has long fur, you'll need to add the long prongs.
Adjustable Boundary Width: The boundary width can be set anywhere from 0 to 10 ft. wide. For most installations we suggest a boundary of 3-5 ft. but a narrower boundary can sometimes be used for smaller dogs or smaller yards and a larger one for larger dogs or dogs with strong breakout drives.
Wire Break Alarm: An audible alarm will sound of your system has damage that prevents the signal from traveling all the way around your boundary loop. You can use a wire break locator kit to find the damaged section of wire and then repair it.
10 Acre Capacity: The PetSafe In-Ground is capable of powering up to 10 acres. For those who need greater capacity we suggest the SportDog In-Ground, which is compatible with PetSafe In-Ground collars.
Lacks Backup Battery: This system does not include a backup battery for the transmitter. While this is not generally a huge issue, it is something to consider if you frequently experience power outages in your area.
Limited Lifetime Warranty: Full one-year warranty followed by a lifetime of fixed price repairs.

I found your site after getting an estimate from the Invisible Fence Company. They gave me a price of around $2500 to install a system on my 1 acre property for my two dogs. While stunned by the price I feared installing it myself and worried about the training in particular. I began searching on line for do it yourself kits and came upon your website. The Flexpetz staff was very helpful and provided excellent follow up and support I was very impressed with the entire process, needless to say we installed the system ourselves and saved $2000.00
Very Happy with the Fence system I bought at Flexpetz. After talking to several pet sites who seemed to know almost nothing about their product, I chose flexpetz and the Innotek 5100 because of its rechargeable collars and remote training feature. Couldn't be more happy with my choice. Have had the fence up for over a year for my boxer and it works flawlessly. The remote is almost as good as the fence and I have broken my dog of many bad habits like jumping up on the counter and stealing food.
Great job guys, Todd
