These electric fence systems can be classified as systems that have been specifically designed for smaller breeds like toy and lap breeds. Little dog electric fence systems feature low level progressive correction and generally much smaller receiver collars than larger systems.

At Flexpetz, we generally recommend the following two systems for smaller breeds: the PetSafe® Little Dog fence system and the Perimeter Technologies Deluxe Ultra . Both systems are excellent choices for small breeds and even medium sized dogs who tend to be naturally compliant or submissive. While the PetSafe® Little Dog has a slighly smaller collar, the Perimeter Technologies system has a more durable casing making it more resistant to general wear and tear and dog chews. 

The Havahart Radial-Shape2 Small Dog is another suitable choice for little dogs if you need a wireless fence. This wireless option is available with a regular or smaller sized collar and offers the compact collar size and appropriate correction levels for a smaller dog.
